The straight bladed ninja sword is equipped with a handmade carbon steel blade that has been etched with an intricate oriental dragon design and sharpened to a razor edge. Polished to a mirror finish the blade is etched on both sides and forged using different degrees of steel hardness, forming a natural hamon (tempered line). Housed in a polished black wooden saya (scabbard) coated in a lustrous black lacquer. The sageo (scabbard cord) is black and matches with the black leather wrapped ito (braid) on the tsuka (handle). Underneath the tsuka is real same (ray skin) which contrasts nicely with the antique dragon menuki (handle ornament). The intricately designed tsuba (guard) displays a fierce oriental dragon, molded into a square from a brass-zinc mixture, coated with an antique finish. Cotton sword bag included, great for storing your katana while transporting. Measures 41 inches closed, 40 inches open with a 28 inch straight blade length. Weighs 3lbs 3oz closed, and 2lbs 11oz open.
